Courtney Atkinson took up triathlon at the age of 15 and the following year won his first junior national title. In 2012 he will once again be representing Australia in triathlon, this time at the at the London Olympic Games.

COURTNEY'S FAVOURITE BIKE SESSION

 

“To be one of Australia’s triathlon representatives at the pinnacle of sport for a second time is very exciting,” Atkinson said of his Olympic selection.

Here, he shares a staple bike session he does on a regular bases using an ergo.

“I think this session is actually one of Brett Sutton’s from when I trained with him in Thredbo when I was 17. It must be good because I have done it ever since,” he said.

WARM UP

10 minutes steady pedalling

MAIN SET

20 x 3 minute efforts at TT pace with 30 seconds spin recovery (maintaining consistent power throughout)
